The Postman knocked today...
Three weeks after ordering the Hermes blue Mysore envelope from Artcurial, it finally arrived! At 250 euros it was a pretty good steal, I thought. It's also in excellent condition EXCEPT for the S stamp featured prominently under the label. I was pretty disappointed to see it there - I did get a great deal on the envelope, but would I have bid for it if I knew about that S stamp? I'm not too sure... Either way, I think it's the sort of information that should have been mentioned in the listing.
Welcome to my blog!
I have set this blog up as a way to comment on all the finer things in life - fashion and accessories, health and beauty, travel, books and film.
In the coming weeks I will also use this blog to list some of the high-end designer items I periodically have for sale in my overstocked closet.
In the meantime, why not check out the Leslie Hindman Hermes auction: http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/lesliehindman?_nkw=hermes&_osacat=0&_trksid=m270.l1313&_sacat=0&_fromfsb=&_odkw=
Be aware that these auction sites often go above the maximum amount, and remember to factor in the buyers premium (usually around 25%) when deciding on your maximum bid!
Shipping is usually pretty expensive too - most auction houses will only ship Fedex which can be wickedly expensive, plus there's duty and customs fees. Despite all that, you can sometimes get a good deal on a rare item through an auction house. Plus it can be exciting to be part of a live auction. Why not have a go?
